Camacha Is one of the most emblematic districts of Madeira, and is one of the most visited by tourists. The parish is internationally known for its folklore (“bailinho da Madeira") and wicker work. In this parish you can visit the Wicker Factory, the Camacha Parish new Church, the São José Chapel, the Café Relógio viewpoint (691m) and the 1875 Football Monument at the Largo da Achada, where football was played for the first time in Portugal.

The parish of Santo António da Serra has about 1,000 inhabitants and lies in a very picturesque area split in two, with one part belonging to the municipality of Santa Cruz and the other to Machico. In this parish we find the Santo da Serra Golf Club, which is considered one of the most spectacular golf courses in Europe, with unbelievable mountain views and waterfront. At Santo da Serra you can visit the Mother Church built on the site of a 16th century chapel and the Quinta da Junta Garden, a public park with a wide diversity of Madeiran flora and fauna species.

The origin of the name of this parish, resulted from of a dry tree trunk with two branches in the shape of a cross, found in the forest. In this locality there is a promenade that runs along the city’s seafront and is a great place for a gentle stroll where you can see visit the Municipal Market, the São Fernando Fort and the Santa Cruz Municipal Garden that offers a pleasant walk through the plants and sculptures.
